1. About cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, remember your preferences, and provide aggregated analytics.
Some cookies are essential for the website to function. Others are used for analytics, marketing or personalisation, and require your explicit consent under UK law.
2. Cookies we use
Strictly necessary (no consent required)
- vizcraft_session
- Maintains your session while browsing — expires when you close the browser.
- vizcraft_cookie_consent
- Records your cookie preferences so we do not show the banner on every page — expires after 12 months.
- cf_clearance / __cf_bm
- Cloudflare bot protection — protects the site from automated abuse.
Analytics (opt-in)
- _ga, _ga_*, _gid (Google Analytics 4)
- Aggregated, anonymised website usage statistics — pages visited, time on site, referring URL. IP anonymisation enabled. Set only after you opt in via the cookie banner.
Marketing (opt-in, where applicable)
We do not currently use any marketing or advertising cookies. If we add them in future, they will be listed here with a clear opt-in.
3. Third-party cookies
Embedded YouTube videos on our /our-work and service pages set cookies from youtube.com when you play a video. These cookies are controlled by YouTube, not by VizCraft. See Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com for details.
We use youtube-nocookie.com embeds where possible to minimise tracking, and YouTube only sets cookies when you actively play a video.
4. How to control cookies
You can manage cookies in three ways:
- Use our cookie banner — visible on first visit and accessible from the footer "Cookie settings" link at any time. Opt out of analytics there.
- Use your browser settings — most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. See aboutcookies.org for instructions per browser.
- Use a browser extension — privacy tools like uBlock Origin, Privacy Badger, or Brave's built-in shields block tracking cookies site-wide.
Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent parts of the website from working. Blocking analytics cookies will not affect your experience — it just means we cannot see your visit in our aggregated statistics.
5. Changes to this policy
We will update this Cookie Policy if our practices change. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
